In My Ears...
A couple of weeks ago I had a middle ear infection. And you know what? It sucked balls. Ears are important, yo.
To treat my ears after the hell they've been through, I stayed up way past my bedtime last night sourcing new music. Here are the ones I've been abusing the play button for...
I fell for Tanlines when Stereogum put their track 'Brother' on their March mixtape but this song has really taken my love to the next level. Doesn't hurt that Julian Barratt directed the video clip either. If you're a keen bean, check out this behind the scenes video.
When someone makes a movie about my life, this Nick Zinner remix of Canyons 'When I See You Again' will play in a scene that very closely resembles the one in Garden State when Zach Braff is at that party.
Lower Dens are where it's at. Their LP will be out soon and a couple of tracks have been released. Both are amazing but Brains takes the cake for me.
Bear in Heaven's latest album 'I love you, it's cool' comes out in two days. If this track is anything to go by, I'm going to become a bear in heaven in two days.
I also just have to say I am really obsessed with Justin Bieber's new track. This might sound like a joke but, as all my friends will attest, it is not. I love the Biebs and I love cheap pop. I hate pop that pretends to be something deeper than it is but I love shallow trash from the likes of Biebs. He sounds exactly like Justin Timberlake which is awesome because where the fuck has JT gone these days?
